In this introductory course, students will expand their understanding of electroacoustic music by creating their own sonic narratives. The topics will include soundscape composition, binaural sound recording, electromagnetic field listening, and site-specific sound work. There will be an emphasis on production and experiential learning through exercises and workshops. Along with readings and discussions, we will look at various examples from sound art and experimental music. This course is introductory; however, it is open for students who want to incorporate sound-based works in their interdisciplinary projects at any level.
